This year’s National Junior Training Camp will be held in and near Whitehorse, YT, for three days in between the Western Canadian Orienteering Championships (WCOC) and the Canadian Orienteering Championships (COC) in July, 2011.
The Sass Peepre Junior Training Camp is for junior orienteers ranging in age from 10 to 20 years. Orienteers with all experience levels, from those new to the sport to elite level orienteers are all welcome and encouraged to participate. Training will be geared towards the age and competitive level for each and every participant. The camp typically sees participants from across Canada as well as from the United States.
Sass Peepre is an active, educational, fun-filled and friend-filled few days and is an excellent precursor to the COC's. Build on your orienteering skills, then practice what you have learned the following weekend, and get feedback from your coaches. Many of the camp coaches will be competitive athletes themselves, so you can follow their progress at the COC's as well.
