Accommodation

Book early!!! Whitehorse's busy tourist season is very much concentrated in July and August. Airline, car rental, hotel, and campground reservations should all be made well in advance, if possible.

Many accommodation options are available (camping, hotel, motel, bed and breakfast). Please see the Tourism Information on the Activities page for more information.

We don't have any pre-organized accommodation for the WCOC's, but see below for suggested campgrounds.

Camping

Robert Service Campground

The best for tenting, this campground is located beside the Yukon River and is within walking distance of downtown.

"Nestled in the trees, on the banks of the Yukon River. A two-minute drive or 15-minute walk to downtown. Hot showers, ice cream, lattes and baked goods. Vehicle and baggage storage. An oasis in the city. ‘Where locals and globals gather.’".

Takhini Hot Springs

This has good tenting and is the least expensive. On the one hand it's a 25 minute drive north of town, but it is only 10 kilometres from the venue for the Long Distance race. Benefit: warm springs for nice soaking.

"Enjoy our newly renovated pool complex. Natural odourless mineral hotsprings pool, licensed cafe, beautiful forested RV park and campground, cabin rentals and van tours."

This is more for RV's, but they do have tent spots too. At the corner of Alaska Highway and Robert Service Way. About a 30-minute walk to downtown.

"Good Sam. Excellent location. Treed individual sites. 20/30 amp, Wi-Fi, water, sewer, cable TV, sani-dump, showers, gift shop, laundry, ticket sales, RV wash."
