2018 Learn To Orienteer Workshop **FULL**

The 2018 Learn To Orienteer Workshop is now full. Please contact Justine at the email below to be added to the waitlist.

This annual one day workshop is a great way to learn about the sport of orienteering!

Come away with the skills to confidently attack a novice course at one of YOA's Wednesday night meets. You will learn how to orient your map and then fold and hold the map in a way that allows you to keep it oriented as you follow your chosen route. Learn the map symbols, judging distance and ways to choose a route. Introduction to using a compass will be taught as well.

  • Date: May 5, 2018
  • Time: 9:00-3:30
  • Location: Yukon College, classroom TBD
  • Cost: $50, + $5 membership (includes 1 free YOA event)
  • Please be prepared to be outside, and wear appropriate footwear for walking or running.
  • Maximum 12 participants. Registration closes May 2, 2018.

For more information about the Learn to O workshop or to be added to the waitlist, please contact Justine Scheck at justinescheck(at)gmail(dot)com. Registration has been capped to ensure low instructor to participant ratios, but we will do our best to open up more spots if there is interest.
